IGBO Pittsburgh’s Bid Selection Party this Sunday

Facebook_PageCover_5801-TailgatePartyWe’re happy to share that Pittsburgh, PA was selected to host the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO) Mid-Year Conference in November 2015.
Come celebrate the bid selection with the committee and volunteers that helped make this bid a success.  The Bid Celebration Party will begin at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, November 24 at 5801 Video Lounge at 5801 Ellsworth Ave in Shadyside.  The bid celebration is being combined with a Pittsburgh Steelers Tailgate fundraiser being hosted by the IGBO Pittsburgh 2015 Committee, so feel free to come in your best black and gold.

Join Steel City Bowling League on August 25

Join in the fun of Steel City Bowling for the 2013-2014 Season. Registration will occur at AMF Noble Manor Lanes on Sunday, August 25.

Individuals Welcome • No Experience Necessary • Averages range from 80-220 • New Playoff Structure • New Seasonal Fun Nights • Weekly Raffles • End of Season Banquet

League Registration will be setup in the lounge area starting at 6pm. All new bowlers must attend. Bowlers who participated in a different league last season should bring verification of average for rating. All bowlers who did not bowl last season must bowl 3 games to establish a valid average for the first week of bowling.

Pittsburgh Pride Drag Bowl

Drag BowlCome to the first ever Drag Bowl during Pittsburgh Pride Week on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at AMF Noble Manor Lanes.

Each $15 ticket includes bowling, shoe rental, and a premier drag performance from top Pittsburgh Drag Queens!

Want to bowl in drag too? Feel free to join the Kings and Queens on the lanes. But don’t worry, dressing in drag is optional. Bowling shoes are required to be worn by all bowlers, so if you’re rocking some killer pumps, be sure to bring socks too.

In addition to bowling and drag, bowlers will enjoy special cocktails and drink specials in the Chatterbox Lounge at AMF Noble Manor Lanes.

Online registration now open for the TREAT 2012 Bowling Tournament

TREAT LogoTREAT is the Pittsburgh-based tournament in the International Gay Bowling Organization, a non-profit organization that provides education, communications and opportunities to promote the sport of bowling and to enrich the lives of individuals through leagues and tournaments worldwide. For more than 20 years, the tournament has raised money for local charities and community groups. The visibility of their biennial intramural bowling tournament is one of the oldest gay bowling tournaments in the country, drawing domestic and international participants.

Tournament registration is $99 per bowler with a $10 early bird registration discount.  Bowlers, far and wide, are welcomed to stay in our host hotel the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown hotel for only $99 per night.

Mystery Doubles Bowling All Summer Long

Summer Mystery DoublesTo keep our bowling skills sharp through the summer, Steel City Bowling League invites all members and friends to participate in Summer Mystery Doubles each Sunday at 7:00 p.m. June through August.

Summer Mystery Doubles is the perfect low-commitment format for the summertime.

How does it work?

  • You can bowl with anyone you’d like.
  • Each player bowls three games.
  • After bowling three games, all names are randomly paired together.
  • The top 3 doubles scores bowl for cash prizes.
